Thymalin
Thymalin (Thymic Peptide Fraction)
Thymalin is a low-molecular-weight peptide complex originally isolated from bovine thymic tissue and studied extensively as a peptide bioregulator. It represents a pool of naturally occurring thymic peptides that are critical to the signaling pathways responsible for immune system maturation and functional maintenance. In preclinical research and cellular models, Thymalin is investigated for its capacity to restore homeostatic balance within the immune system, particularly in the context of thymic involution and immunosenescence. Scientists utilize this compound to explore interactions between thymic signaling factors, epigenetic gene regulation, and systemic physiological resilience.

Mechanism of Action
Thymalin acts primarily by stimulating the differentiation, maturation, and functional activity of T-lymphocyte subpopulations. It enhances T-cell receptor expression and regulates the synthesis of key immunoregulatory cytokines, including interleukin-2 and interferon-gamma. At the cellular level, peptides within the Thymalin complex have been shown to bind specific nucleosome and DNA regions, inducing epigenetic modifications and reactivating gene transcription in senescent lymphoid and non-lymphoid tissues.
